Joe Harrington is an online content producer on the Austin American-Statesman’s web desk. After an award-winning stint at The Kerrville Daily Times, where he worked as a reporter and editor from 2009 to 2012, Harrington joined the Austin-American Statesman family in 2012. While serving as a regional sports editor in the Austin Community Newspapers department from 2012-2015, Harrington led the Round Rock Leader to three straight years of award-winning sports coverage. Harrington has received first-place honors in feature writing from the Texas Press Association as well as the Associated Press Sports Editor Southwest Region. He also helped produced two top-10 special sections while in Kerrville. Harrington is a proud graduate of Kent State University and an even prouder Cincinnati native. A dog enthusiast, Harrington loves his rescued Australian Cattle Dog, Kita, very much.
