FOX rolls out World Cup team in Austin soccer festival this weekend

Austin soccer fans will have plenty to check out Friday through Monday with the FOX Sports House showcasing soccer at South by Southwest.

The Hangar Lounge, 318 Colorado Street, has been converted into a World Cup house, with FOX Sports sending a small army of talent to promote its coverage of the biggest tournament on the globe this summer from Russia.

There will be open houses from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, 11-8 p.m. Saturday and 11-4 p.m. Monday. A SXSW sports kickoff party is Friday night from 7-10.

FOX soccer on-air personalities in Austin for the long weekend include Alexi Lalas, Stuart Holden, Rob Stone and Rachel Bonnetta, who will do a live daily kickoff version of her Twitter show that will air in Moscow during the World Cup. Bonnetta’s show will be from 4:30-5 p.m. Friday-Sunday and 11-11:30 a.m. Monday.

The open houses will include panel conversations, documentaries, interactive digital presentations, social media exhibits, tattoo artistry, food, drink, music and other entertainment.
