Jones is on the right side of the Goodell issue
I have never been a fan of Jerry Jones, Dallas Cowboys owner. However, I am in total agreement with not agreeing to a new contract for NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell. Goodell has not done his job properly. He has mishandled numerous player allegations, giving some a pass and harshly punishing others. No rhyme or reason to the way he handles these situations.
In addition, he should have slammed the hammer down when the players started kneeling during our national anthem. He totally mishandled that one. Why is he making such a huge salary anyway? Why is his contract being negotiated now when it doesn’t expire for another year or so? I think the other NFL owners need to get on board with Jones. Go, Jerry!

Missing birds: Is this a vast wing conspiracy?
Mike Leggett, where are the birds? I have a great lease, tanks, maize, cornfield, etc. 8 or 10 miles east of Pflugerville. No birds at all. Has there been a bird blight? Is there a conspiracy? Have the liberals penned them up to prevent the slaughter? What’s going on?

Texas’ problem is coaching and play-calling
I’m happy to note that Kirk Bohls agrees with my critique of UT’s loss to Texas Tech, that coach Tom Herman’s play-calling is what lost that game. Herman admitted it on air after the game. I think Herman is highly overrated and has an overinflated opinion of himself and his abilities. But what do I know about football? I’m just an 83-year-old great-grandmother!
By the way, former UT coach Charlie Strong has a problem. His star quarterback, Quinton Flowers, threw the bird at the Central Florida fans after a loss, and Charlie’s response was, “I know this young man, I know his character, and I don’t believe he intended to do anything that would offend anyone.” Baker Mayfield of Oklahoma had done the same thing to the Kansas fans and was disciplined. What happened to the old Charlie Strong who came into UT and immediately threw 10 players off the team for undisclosed reasons, thereby guaranteeing at least one, maybe two or three losing season?
