Bakersfield ends game on scoring streak to top Texas Stars

The Bakersfield Condors scored three third-period goals to come away with a 4-2 win over the Texas Stars in an American Hockey League contest at the H-E-B Center at Cedar Park on Saturday night.

The Stars (19-14-3-1) led 2-0 until late in the second period when the Condors (14-13-6-0) began a four-goal streak to end the game.

Ty Rattie made it 2-1 with just 21 seconds left to play in the middle frame. His goal came on a power play and was assisted by Joey LaLeggia and Grayson Downing.

It was all Texas before Rattie’s goal. Curtis McKenzie and Austin Fyten each scored with fewer than 30 seconds to play in the first period. McKenzie leads the team with 18 goals on the year.

Brad Malone tied the game nearly six minutes into the third period on a short-handed goal.

Joe Gambardella scored the eventual game winner just over two minutes later.

Iiro Pakarinen finished off the scoring with an empty-net goal with less than a minute to play in regulation.

Nick Ellis earned the win for the Condors, saving 38 of the 40 shots he faced.

Landon Bow made 27 saves on 30 shots for the Stars.
