Class 4A, Division II state semifinal: Wimberley (13-1) vs. West Orange-Stark (12-0)

7:30 p.m. Friday, Legacy Stadium in Katy

Quarterbacks: Wimberley senior JoJo Weeks has been spectacular in the playoffs, throwing 13 TD passes and no interceptions through four games. He’s averaging 268 yards a game passing in the playoffs while completing 66 percent of his throws. … Chaka Watson is a dual-threat for West Orange-Stark. In a victory over Salado last week, he accounted for 192 yards passing and 66 yards rushing. Edge: Wimberley

Other offense: Texans wideout Cade Stoever has been a postseason force, catching 22 passes while averaging 96 yards receiving. RB Thomas Carruthers has averaged 144 yards rushing during the playoffs, scoring seven TDs. … West Orange-Stark has averaged 37 PPG this season but has totaled only 20 points in its past three playoff games. Outside of Watson, the Mustangs have shown no big-play threats on offense in recent weeks. Edge: Wimberley.

Defense: Wimberley has yielded an average of 24 PPG in the playoffs. The Texans made three pivotal fourth-down stops last week against Cuero. … West Orange-Stark has allowed an average of eight points through 12 games and has four shutouts to its credit. That included a 14-0 victory over Salado in a state quarterfinal. Edge: West Orange-Stark

Special teams: Wimberley K Nicholas Kohls has been steady all season, converting 7 of 8 field-goal attempts and 74 of 79 PATs. Wyatt Mann has averaged 34.7 yards on punts. … Mustangs K Chad Edge made field goals in victories over Kennedale, Mexia, Hardin-Jefferson and Hamshire-Fannett. Edge: Wimberley

Intangibles: Wimberley won UIL state titles in 2005 and 2011. If the Texans are due every six years, their time is now. Their only loss was a 40-28 setback against Boerne on Oct. 6. … West Orange-Stark is the two-time defending 4A, Division II state champion and has won 38 straight games. Edge: West Orange-Stark
