5-star CB Chris Steele schedules Oklahoma official visit

Oklahoma-Oklahoma football-Oklahoma Sooners-Chris Steele-official visit

One of the nation’s top 2019 talents has his eyes on Norman, Okla.

Chris Steele, a 5-star cornerback out of Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco, is one of Lincoln Riley and the Sooners top targets this cycle and they’ll soon get to host him, as Steele has announced his official visit to Oklahoma.

Steele’s official visit is scheduled for April 14.

Ranked as the nation’s No. 28 player and the No. 3 cornerback, per the 247Sports Composite, Steele holds 40 total offers to date with programs such as USC, Texas, Alabama, Michigan and Notre Dame in the mix, among others.

Not surprisingly, the Sooners, which offered on May 24, will have their hands full in hopes of hauling in the elite defensive back and bolstering what’s currently the nation’s No. 5 class behind five early pledges.

Riley and his staff will have an opportunity to take a significant step towards that goal on April 14.

USC currently stands as the frontrunner for the 6-foot-1, 188-pound prospect, holding eight of his 10 Crystal Ball projections with the other two favoring Texas.

However, for those who really want to ace their drafts, that list is divided into tiers. Grouping players into tiers helps drafters make decisions about when to pick players from different...

Bulls’ Wendell Carter Jr. soaks in NBA rookie program: ‘You have so many resources’

When Wendell Carter Jr. joined his fellow 2018 draft class members at this week’s mandatory Rookie Transition Program, he knew there would be seminars and maybe some studying. What the Bulls first-round pick didn’t know is there would be a magic show. Or an NBA 2K video-game tournament. Or a straight-talk moment from 10-time All-Star Carmelo...

Tiger Woods gave golf a boost. Who can do that for NASCAR?

Tiger Woods gave golf a much-needed boost with his run at the PGA Championship last week. It helped put the sport back on the national stage. NASCAR feels it had a similar moment when Chase Elliott finally won his first race earlier this month at Watkins Glen. “That really was a big moment,” said Kurt Busch, among a few drivers on hand...
When it comes to NFL blitzes, more isn’t always better

You’ve seen this scene play out thousands of times: While the play clock is winding down, the quarterback reads the defense and adjusts the play, protection and routes at the line of scrimmage, sometimes until the final milliseconds before the officials call him for delay of game. A blitz comes, and the quarterback, if he is worth his salt, will...
