3 SEC teams make the top 8 for 5-star PF Trendon Watford

Trendon Watford is one of the most sought-after basketball recruits in the 2019 class. His offer list consists of 17 schools, which means it was time for the 6-foot-9, 227-pound power forward to trim it down.

Watford did just that on Wednesday afternoon after tweeting out his top 8. Of those programs listed, three (Alabama, LSU and Vanderbilt) were from the SEC:

According to the 247Sports composite rankings, the 6-foot-9, 227-pound power forward is listed as the No. 12 overall player and No. 3 power forward. The Mountain Brook (Ala.) is also the top player from the state of Alabama.

Watford was dominant during his junior season. He averaged 23.3 points, 12.3 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 1.7 steals and 2.2 blocks. For his three-year career, he’s averaged  23.3 points, 11.1 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.4 steals and 2.0 blocks.

As of right now, Memphis is considered the favorite. There’s still a good chance he ends up somewhere in the SEC, however.

Drew Brees broke the record for career completions on the way to 396 yards and three touchdown passes in an overtime win over the Falcons. He also rushed for a couple touchdowns with the help of a pretty sweet spin move and a...
