Austin Spurs outpace Reno Bighorns


Every member of the Austin Spurs scored as they defeated the Reno Bighorns 144-115 at the H-E-B Center at Cedar Park on Friday night.

Three Spurs (28-16) scored at least 20 points and six scored in double digits in the win.

Derrick White put up another big game, scoring 26 points to lead Austin. He added six rebounds, two assists and a steal.

Jaron Blossomgame recorded a double-double for Austin, scoring 20 points and pulling down 11 rebounds.

Darrun Hilliard scored 22 points and hit 5-of-9 from 3-point range.

The Spurs were on fire from the field, shooting 61 percent overall. They knocked down 14-of-26 3-point attempts for 54 percent.

Jeff Ledbetter went 3-for-3 from long range, scoring 17 points on the night.

The Bighorns (24-18) had a good night offensively, but they couldn’t keep up with Austin. Seven Bighorns scored in double figures, but the team shot 43 percent. David Stockton led the way with 23 points.

Austin finished the first quarter with a 13-point lead and the teams combined to score 75 in the second period. The Spurs led by as many as 32 points in the game.

Austin outscored Reno 22-11 on fast break points and held a 54-42 edge in points in the paint.

The win put the Spurs a game and a half ahead of the South Bay Lakers for the top seed in the Western conference.
