Rua’s homer leads Round Rock to win over Oklahoma City

Ryan Rua hit a two-run homer in the eighth inning, leading the Round Rock Express to a 5-3 win over the Oklahoma City Dodgers on Saturday at Dell Diamond in Round Rock.

Oklahoma City (72-68) had a runner on second in the top of the ninth, but Tim Locastro flew out to end the game.

The home run by Rua scored Willie Calhoun and was the game’s last scoring play.

Locastro hit an RBI single in the second inning to help give the Dodgers a 3-0 lead. The Express (64-72) tied it up with a run in the second and two in the fourth. In the second, Preston Beck hit an RBI single, while Phil Gosselin and Brett Hayes both drove in a run in the fourth.

Tanner Scheppers (1-3) got the win with two innings of scoreless, two-hit relief while Jeremy Bleich (5-3) took the loss in the Pacific Coast League game.

Express starter Tyler Wagner allowed three runs on six hits through five innings.

Despite the loss, Okla. City is 9-4 against Round Rock this season.
