Muncy’s homer leads Oklahoma City to win over Round Rock

Max Muncy hit a three-run home run in the fourth inning, leading the Oklahoma City Dodgers to a 6-5 win over the Round Rock Express on Friday at Dell Diamond.

The home run by Muncy scored Edwin Rios and Kyle Farmer to give the Dodgers a 3-1 lead.

After Oklahoma City (72-66) added three runs, the Express (63-72) cut into the deficit in the eighth inning when Willie Calhoun hit a two-run double and Phil Gosselin hit a two-run single. Calhoun finished 2-for-5 with two RBIs and a double.

Oklahoma City right-hander Eddie Gamboa (8-7) picked up a quality start and the win after allowing one run on five hits over six innings. Opposing starter James Dykstra (2-9) took the loss in the Pacific Coast League game after allowing four runs and seven hits over 5 1/3 innings. Dylan Floro pitched two scoreless innings for his second save of the season.

Jurickson Profar and Brett Hayes each had two hits for the Express.

With the win, Oklahoma City improved to 9-3 against Round Rock this season.
