Express game with Iowa canceled due to inclement weather

The Round Rock Express were set to play the Iowa Cubs Saturday night in Des Moines, but the weather didn’t cooperate.

The game was canceled and won’t be made up.

The series resumes Sunday at 1:08 p.m. before the season finale Monday.

On Friday, Juan Centeno hit an RBI single in the top of the 10th inning to lead the Express to a 6-5 win.

Tommy Joseph scored the go-ahead run on the single after he started the inning on second and advanced to third on a sacrifice bunt.

Brady Feigl got Stephen Bruno to ground out with a runner on second to end the game for his second save of the season.

The Cubs tied the game 5-5 in the ninth when Chris Coghlan hit a solo home run.

Reliever R.J. Alvarez (4-4) picked up the win after he allowed one run and one hit over one inning. He also struck out two and walked one. Craig Brooks (1-3) went one inning, allowing one run and one hit while walking one in the Pacific Coast League game.

Joseph homered and singled, driving home three runs and scoring a couple in the win. Christian Lopes reached base four times.
