Three people displaced by fire in Northwest Austin duplex


5:37 p.m. update: Three people have been displaced from their home after a fire at a duplex in Northwest Austin, authorities said.

Firefighters responded to the fire at a duplex on the 8100 block of Tuscarora Trail at 4:44 p.m. Less than an hour later, firefighters had put out the fire but the duplex had received heavy damage to both sides, authorities said.

No one was hurt in the fire but the three adults who live at the duplex have been displaced and will stay with friends, authorities said. Firefighters are still investigating what caused the fire.

Authorities received a call about heavy smoke at a duplex on the 8100 block of Tuscarora Trail. First units reported heavy smoke and said the fire appeared to have extended into the attic. A fire attack is underway, authorities said.
