A freight train stopped in North Austin, alongside MoPac Boulevard, after one of its engines caught fire, Austin Fire Department officials said.
The fire was out by the time the train stopped and Austin firefighters arrived, AFD officials said. No one was reported injured.
Several passing motorists reported fire coming from the train, AFD officials said.
Firefighters responded around 9:30 p.m. to the train, which stopped near the intersection of Great Northern Boulevard and Foster Lane.
