New rescue vehicle in operation

The Travis County Emergency Services District 1, which serves the cities of Jonestown and Lago Vista and the village of Point Venture, recently purchased a new special operations vehicle, Rescue 102. The multipurpose vehicle can be deployed as a mobile command center to enhance or re-establish communication and coordination during emergency incidents and special security events. The squad also functions as a heavy rescue unit and has specialized equipment for technical rescue situations such as traffic collisions requiring vehicle extrication, building collapses, confined space rescue, rope rescues and swift water rescues.
