Travis County sheriff’s deputies have identified a man found dead in Lake Travis Tuesday as 27-year-old Ricardo Sierra Martinez, of Mexico.
Martinez’s body was pulled from the water near Bob Wentz Park on the north shore of the lake at around 10:30 a.m. Tuesday.
A spokeswoman for the sheriff’s office said Martinez is the man who was reported missing on Sunday, after friends said he swam from the park to a small island in the lake.
The cause and manner of death is pending the results of an autopsy, but sheriff’s officials say the investigation points to a likely drowning.
Two others who were last seen on Lake Travis in May are still missing, according to the sheriff’s office, including:
- 53-year-old Manuel Salas of Elgin, who was last seen May 5 near Mansfield Dam Park.
- 25-year-old Rachel Kathleen Scott of Round Rock who was last seen on May 19 between Starnes Island and Volente Beach.
