A man in his 40s was killed Saturday evening after being struck by a train in the 3100 block of West Anderson Lane, just east of Mopac Boulevard (Loop 1), in North Austin, according to Austin-Travis County EMS.

A spokesman for Union-Pacific, which owns the rail lines, said an Amtrak train was involved in the incident.

Amtrak confirmed to KXAN-TV that the Texas Eagle route, which runs through Austin from Chicago to Los Angeles, was delayed. Amtrak said 122 people were on board the train, KXAN said.
