Keep Austin Beautiful hosting Loop 360 holiday tree cleanup event

If you decorated a tree along Loop 360 for the holidays, it’s time to clean it up.

With the Christmas season behind us, Keep Austin Beautiful will host a cleanup event for Saturday, Jan. 6 to restore the trees along Loop 360 to their natural, unadorned state. This year marks the sixth annual cleanup hosted by the nonprofit organization.

The cedar trees are a popular destination during the holidays for people who want add festive decor like bows and ornaments for passing drivers. Unfortunately, as the tradition grows in popularity, the opportunity for trash to accumulate grows too.

According to the event listing on Facebook, “volunteers will also be treated to warm goodies from Tiff's Treats, Texas Coffee Traders, and an after cleanup refuel from I Fratelli Pizza.”

Volunteers are asked to carpool since the cleanup will take place over multiple spots. Anyone interested in the event can register online.
