Police seeking masked robber who stole from Northeast Austin bank


10:35 a.m. update: Austin police are searching for a man who robbed a Compass Bank in Northeast Austin on Thursday morning.

Police received reports of the robbery at 9:09 a.m. in the 5700 block of Cameron Road.

Officer Marcus Davis said a man wearing a ski mask walked into the bank, pulled a gun and demanded cash.

Davis said the robber left the bank and headed south on Cameron Road.

He was last seen wearing a dark hoodie and blue jeans.

Earlier: Austin police said officers responded Thursday morning to reports of a bank robbery in Northeast Austin.

The call about the robbery in the 5700 block of Cameron Road came in at 9:09 a.m., police said.
