13 people freed from elevator in South Austin, fire officials say


Austin firefighters freed 13 people who were trapped in an elevator in South Austin on Wednesday morning.

Firefighters and medics were called to the elevator in the 1600 block of Barton Springs Road around 10:30 a.m. 

By 10:55 a.m., crews were able to get everyone out.

Fire officials said at least one person inside the elevator requested to be evaluated by medical officials, but later said everyone inside denied having any medical complaints.
