UPDATE: Man seriously injured after crashing vehicle into building in Central Austin, EMS says


A man has potentially life-threatening injuries after crashing a vehicle Friday afternoon into a building in Central Austin, Austin-Travis County EMS said. 

Medics said they were called at 3:59 p.m. to the crash, which occurred in the 4000 block of Guadalupe Street. 

EMS said a man, described as in his 20s, was rescued from a vehicle and taken to Dell Seton Medical Center with serious and potentially life-threatening injuries. 

No one inside the building was struck, officials said.

All northbound lanes of Guadalupe Street are closed at 40th Street as first responders work. Police are asking people to avoid the area.
