Affordable housing, water rates and municipal judges, oh my!

It may be a quiet Austin City Council meeting Thursday, with a relatively light agenda.

The council will weigh whether affordable housing policies should take into account how long someone’s family has lived in the neighborhood.

It will consider reducing water rates for retail customers, whose bills have been more than their share compared to residents, a review found. And council members will consider a committee recommendation to not appoint the city’s five municipal judges.
