Deputies looking for man who stabbed, sexually assaulted, robbed woman in Wells Branch

Travis County deputies are looking for man who stabbed, sexually assaulted and robbed a woman Saturday who was walking through a Wells Branch apartment complex, the sheriff’s office said.

The woman was walking through the Churchill Crossing apartment complex in the  14100 block of Thermal Drive when she was attacked around 4:30 a.m., Travis County sheriff’s officials said. The man asked her for money, then pulled her to a secluded area where he sexually assaulted her, stabbed her and stole her cell phone before running away, sheriff’s officials said.

She was hospitalized and is currently in good condition, sheriff’s officials said.

According to the sheriff’s office, the man is about 5-feet-6-inches tall, estimated to be about 30 years old, with straight hair and a goatee. He was wearing a white shirt, blue jeans and a brown jacket and smelled of alcohol.

Travis County sheriff’s investigators said they initially had a person of interest in the case “who has since been ruled out as a suspect.”
