‘BRISKET BANDIT’: New Braunfels police searching for man who stole $400 in meat


New Braunfels police are asking for the public’s help finding a man they’re calling the “brisket bandit.”

Police say on May 9 a man walked into the H-E-B on FM 306 and walked out with seven beef briskets. Two days later he returned to the same store and stole six more, they said. 

Authorities described the man on Facebook as a “well-seasoned criminal,” who got away with $400 in meat. 

“NBPD and Crime Stoppers are hoping someone recognizes this brisket bandit and can steer us in the right direction,” the department said. “We’d like to meat him in person so we can grill him about these thefts.”

Police released a photo of the man, who they described as in his 30s. They said he drives a white Ford Explorer.
