BREAKING: Third Subway shop robbed in UT area in last two weeks, Austin police say

An armed robbery was reported Friday night at a Subway sandwich shop in the 500 block of West Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, and police are combing the University of Texas area for the perpetrator, officials said.

Witnesses described the robber as a woman wearing a gray shirt and a black jacket with a red flower, University of Texas police said. She was last seen heading north on San Antonio Street.

This is the third Subway that has been robbed in the UT area in the past two weeks. Witnesses reported on Jan. 19 that a woman robbed two Subways in the span of 20 minutes.

The public should avoid the area, and anyone who sees a woman who fits this description should call 911, police said.

You might hate your commute, but study says Austin's not the worst
