Man arrested with $112K worth of meth in South Austin hotel

A man was arrested in a South Austin hotel with a kilogram of meth, which was worth about $112,000, according to an Austin police arrest affidavit.

Bobby Wayne Allbritton, 35, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.

Police were patrolling Casulo Hotel in the 3000 block of Interstate 35 around 9 a.m. when they ran a check on Allbritton’s car license plate and found that the car was involved in a “fail to stop and render aid” incident, the police report said.

Inside the hotel room, police found Allbritton with his pockets filled with cash, a backpack with methamphetamine inside, hallucinogenic mushrooms and a .45-caliber handgun, the affidavit said.

In total, $8,660 in cash was seized from the hotel room, according to the affidavit.

Police said Allbritton had 1.1194 kilograms in his possession and estimated the street value of the amount to be $111,940, the police report said.

In addition to his charge of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, Allbritton was also charged with unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, one out-of-county misdemeanor and seven out-of-county felonies. He is being held on $485,000 bail.
