Boy pleads with stepdad for mom’s life during stabbing, affidavit says

A woman found stabbed to death in her home in eastern Travis County early Saturday has been identified by the Travis County sheriff’s office as 36-year-old Emily Martinez Villarreal.

Robert Degollado, 51, has been charged with murder and remained in the Travis County Jail on Sunday with bail set at $500,000.

According to an arrest affidavit, the stabbing occurred in a residence in the Hornsby Bend neighborhood, on the 4600 block of Sojourner Street, where Villarreal’s two young sons were also at home. One on the sons frantically called 911 around 1:45 a.m. to tell authorities that his stepfather was stabbing his mother, the affidavit says.

The boy at one point said, “Robert, I love you, please stop” just before the call disconnected, according to the affidavit.
