Body found in southeastern Travis County, authorities say


6:50 p.m. update: Sheriff’s deputies found a body Wednesday afternoon in southeastern Travis County.

Officials got a call at 2:28 p.m. that there was a suspicious smell in the area at Blocker Lane and Von Quintus Road, which is just west of the Texas 130 toll road and south of Austin-Bergstrom International Airport, and deputies found the body of a man in a grassy area, about 7 feet from the road, Travis County sheriff’s officials said. 

Officials have not yet identified this person or how he died, but they hope to learn more during an autopsy Thursday, sheriff’s officials said.
