Mardi Paws Parade. This adorable Mardi Gras parade for dogs in Austin, produced by Grocery Pup, is for a good cause, by benefiting Austin Dog Rescue and Cutie PITooties Pitbull Rescue. The celebration will include a party; live music by a local brass band and a DJ; king cake for both dogs and humans; and festive cocktails such as King and Queens Punch, daiquiris and Bloody Marys. 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday. $10-$100. Good Girl Gone Brunch at Trace. The restaurant at the W is celebrating National Umbrella Day with a special brunch. The Good Girl Gone brunch will feature all things related to Rihanna. Listen to your favorite Rihanna hits with beats from DJ Kid Slyce and sip on themed cocktails like the Ella, RiRi and Desperado. Delbert McClinton at Paramount Theatre. At 77, Lubbock-born and Fort Worth-raised McClinton is now a revered elder statesman of what has come to be known as Americana music. His golden years have been some of his most productive: Since the turn of the century, he’s released six studio albumsm that have attracted younger fans who weren’t around for his run with several major labels in the 1970s and ’80s. In December, Texas A&M Press published “One of the Fortunate Few,” writer Diana Finlay Hendricks’ biography of McClinton. (She’ll read the book at BookPeople on Sunday, See The Scoop, right). The 15th Annual Black Composers Concert. The Austin Chamber Music Center observes Black History Month with this concert curated by award-winning pianist Artina McCain, with featured composers including Margaret Bonds, Florence Price and Undine Smith Moore. The music will incorporate spirituals and jazz.
