Veronica from ‘Riverdale’ hung out in Bastrop while filming her new movie

It may not be as dark and dramatic as the town of Riverdale, but one of the stars of the Archie comics spinoff show spent some time in another quaint, small town: Bastrop.

Camila Mendes, who plays Veronica Lodge in the CW’s “Riverdale,” was in Bastrop filming her new movie “Coyote Lake.” The filming wrapped over Mother’s Day weekend.

Not much is currently known about the film, but Variety reports it will be a “a dark thriller about a motel-owning mother and her teen daughter, who use their business (located near the Mexican border) to discretely murder the drug runners and human traffickers who spend the night.” It’s slated to premiere in 2019.
