One of the former Austin-area Toys R Us stores likely won’t sit empty for long.
The location in the Brodie Oaks shopping center at 4025 S. Capital of Texas Highway (Loop 360) in Southwest Austin is one of 123 nationwide set to be auctioned Aug. 13-14 in New York.
The 43,136-square-foot building was constructed in 1982, according to the Travis Central Appraisal District, and was valued at $3.8 million this year for tax purposes.
Wayne, N.J.-based Giraffe Properties LLC, a Toys R Us affiliate, is listed as the building’s owner.
There were three other Toys R Us stores in the Austin area prior to the chain’s recent shutdown. Those three stores were all in leased, not owned, space.
