WEATHER: Chance of showers continues tonight into Monday


2 p.m.:

A 30 percent chance of showers looms over the Austin area this afternoon and into the evening, with a slight chance of showers Monday morning and thunderstorms also possible after noon tomorrow, according to the National Weather Service. The chance of showers is expected to increase to 40 percent Monday evening.

Rain is also possible on Tuesday and Wednesday, with cloudy skies expected until sometime Thursday.

9 a.m.: A fog advisory is in effect for Travis County until 11 a.m. Sunday, according to the National Weather Service. The advisory includes the counties of Hays, Bastrop, Comal, Caldwell, Bexar, Guadalupe, Atascosa, Wilson and Karnes. Visibility is limited to a quarter mile or less. Areas of dense fog can result in hazardous driving conditions. The NWS advises drivers to slow down, use their headlights and leave plenty of distance in front of them while on the road.

Sunday will see a 30 percent chance of showers, according to the NWS, with cloudy skies and a high fo 74 degrees. The chance of showers continues into the evening, with a low of 66 degrees expected in the Austin area.

Monday’s high is anticipated to reach 80 degrees, with a slight chance of showers and then a slight chance of thunderstorms.
