FORECAST: Temperatures expected to top 100 degrees again on Sunday


An especially humid morning will give way to another hot day on Sunday with a high of 101 degrees expected in the Austin area, according to the National Weather Service. The heat index is expected to reach 106 degrees.

Sunday night will be partly cloudy with a low around 78. Monday temperatures are also expected to top 100 degrees.

Much of southeast Texas will be under a heat advisory from 1 p.m. until 7 p.m. this evening, including the cities of La Grange, Karnes City, Gonzales, Cuero, and Halletsville. Heat index values could reach 108 to 111 degrees in those areas. The NWS advises people to drink plenty of fluids, stay indoors and check on relatives and neighbors.
