Previously, she covered parts of western Travis County, including the Eanes school district, West Lake Hills and Rollingwood. Before that, she wrote about crime for newspapers in southern Louisiana and New Orleans, where she is originally from.

TRAFFIC ALERT: Most of northbound I-35 shut down near Stassney Lane
 All but one lane of northbound Interstate 35 has shut down after four vehicles were involved in two crashes near Stassney Lane, Austin police said. Police have closed about a mile of the interstate for the two separate collisions. According to initial reports, no one was seriously injured, Austin police said.
