Texas Stars outpaced by Tucson Roadrunners

With the help of two power-play goals the Tucson Roadrunners outpaced the Texas Stars 5-2 at the H-E-B Center at Cedar Park on Friday.

Laurent Dauphin scored two goals and assisted on another to lead the Roadrunners to victory.

Greg Rallo and Travis Morin each scored for Texas (25-18-4-2), but it wasn’t nearly enough as the Stars were only able to manage 18 shots in the game. On the other side, Tucson (26-14-2-1) had 27 shots in the contest.

Rallo gave Texas a brief lead early in the game when he scored on an assist by Justin Dowling.

Just over five minutes later, Dysin Mayo tied the game up with the help of Lane Pederson and Dauphin.

Tyler Gaudet gave Tucson the lead with just a second left before the first intermission. He was assisted by Pederson and Joel Hanley on the play.

Dauphin scored the first of his two power-play goals at 12:17 into the middle period. His second goal came less than a minute later.

Morin scored early in the third period, but the comeback effort fell way short.

Landon Bow suffered the loss, allowing four goals while making 18 saves. He came out of the game after 33 minutes.

Hunter Miska got the win as he stopped 16 of the 18 shots he faced.

Pederson added an empty-net goal assisted by Lawson Crouse to cap the scoring late in the third period.
