Grayson Schirpik recorded 12 kills and 13 digs Tuesday as Rouse won its 25th straight match, sweeping East View in three sets in District 19-5A play. The Raiders rank fourth in the USA Today Super 25 national poll, which is topped by San Antonio Reagan, the squad that handed the Raiders two of their three losses this season. The Raiders hold the highest Super 25 ranking bestowed on an Austin-area team since Lake Travis finished 50-0 in 2011, winning the Class 4A state championship and topping the final Super 25 poll. … In another 19-5A match, Brooke Townsend had 14 kills as Cedar Creek held off Cedar Park in five sets. Both teams are battling for second place in the district along with Hutto. … After being idle Tuesday, Stony Point will play at Westwood on Friday night in a match between the top teams in District 13-6A. The Tigers (8-0 in 13-6A) topped the Warriors (7-1) in five sets Sept. 19, winning the final set 15-13. Westwood defeated Cedar Ridge in five sets Tuesday as Maddi Kriz and Audrey Quesnel combined for 33 kills. Stony Point was ranked 13th in the latest Class 6A state poll released by the Texas Girls Coaches Association. … Westlake also had a bye Tuesday in advance of its District 25-6A match against Lake Travis on Friday. The Chaparrals top the district standings, but Vandegrift remains close behind thanks to a six-match winning streak that included a three-set sweep of Hays on Tuesday. Ryan Palmieri led the Vipers with 18 kills. … Sabrina Bianco totaled 16 kills and 28 assists as Bowie defeated San Marcos 22-25, 25-20, 25-16, 25-16 last week to move into first place in District 14-6A. The Bulldogs remain unbeaten in district play while the Rattlers have suffered one loss. On Tuesday, Bowie swept Del Valle and San Marcos swept Akins. … Virginia Brown and Jordan Bernard combined for 15 kills Tuesday night as Austin High stayed perfect in District 25-5A play with a four-set victory over McCallum. Callie Pate and Carley Holland each totaled 19 assists for the Maroons, and teammate Hannah Moenke finished with 10 digs. With the loss, McCallum slipped into third place in 25-5A behind Ann Richards. … Adri Sotelo chalked up 58 assists and four blocks as St. Michael’s, the defending TAPPS Class 5A state champion, won its district championship by defeating Regents in five sets Wednesday night. Kelsey Kilgo piled up 27 kills for the Crusaders, and Gracie Cuba had 13 digs.
