Sophomore Tori McCann tossed a perfect game as Cedar Ridge blanked McNeil 10-0 this week in District 13-6A play. Elsewhere in the district, Hendrickson thumped Westwood 15-2 as Hawks sophomore Taylor Bachmeyer struck out 13 in earning the win. … Bowie’s Catarina Esteves fired a shutout as the Bulldogs defeated San Marcos 3-0 in a battle for first place in District 14-6A. As the week began, Sarah Williamson, Nikki Gil and Tiffany Licon all were batting over .425 this season. … Hays improved to 8-0 in District 25-6A by edging Westlake 4-2. Maxine Valdez scattered six hits in recording the complete-game victory. … Gracy Crafts pitched a two-hit shutout and smacked a first-inning homer as Elgin topped Hutto 6-0 in a District 19-5A contest. Crafts, a sophomore, finished with a game-high three RBIs. … Senior Tevanae Tate slammed two home runs for the second straight game as Rouse rolled past Cedar Creek 15-5 to remain tied with Elgin for the 19-5A lead. Both teams are 10-1. Rouse finished with four homers against the Eagles. … East View made school history Tuesday night when the Patriots defeated Georgetown 7-3 to complete their first regular-season sweep of the Eagles. At 9-3, the Patriots hold down third place in the 19-5A standings. … Sophomore Danielle Serna posted a complete-game shutout as Austin High blanked Lanier 22-0 to improve to 8-0 in District 25-5A. … Liberty Hill, ranked No. 1 in Class 4A in the latest Texas Girls Coaches Association state poll, blanked Burnet 15-0 as Joely Williamson homered, tripled and drove in four runs. Jessica Truax added two doubles and three RBIs for the Panthers. Amber Wiggins (15-0) tossed three no-hit innings and struck out nine. Williamson and teammate Samantha Barnett have combined for 15 homers and 61 RBIs this season. … Hyde Park senior Kelsey Lowke, a Nicholls State signee, recorded her 200th career hit in high school last week as the Panthers topped San Antonio Christian 16-6. … La Grange, the defending Class 4A state champion, scored three unearned runs in the bottom of the seventh to beat visiting Giddings 5-4 last week. The Leopards now lead District 20-4A. Giddings, now led by former La Grange coach Arthur Behrend, rebounded to defeat Sealy 12-9 Tuesday.
