With little more than a week left in the regular season, just a game separates third-place Pflugerville, fourth-place Stony Point and fifth-place Cedar Ridge in the district standings.. … District 19-5A remains tight at the top, with Georgetown and Rouse tied for first with two district losses apiece and Cedar Park a game back with three losses. Georgetown starter Justin Murphy threw a complete game, two-hit shutout in a 5-0 victory over Rouse last week, but the Eagles then fell to Cedar Park 3-1 Tuesday. … Since losing to district-leading McCallum 2-0 on March 24, Austin High has won six consecutive District 25-5A games by a combined score of 73-1. Nick Mendevil and Liam Ozdil, who have a combined 46 RBIs entering this week, pace the Maroons’ attack. … A 10-game winning streak has propelled Liberty Hill to the top of the District 19-4A standings and its first appearance in the THSBCA Class 4A state poll. Pitchers Wyatt Cheney (1.16 ERA, 57 strikeouts) and Chandler Freeman (1.01 ERA, 48 Ks) have fueled the Panthers’ surge. … Logan Fisher struck out 11 while holding Rosebud-Lott to two hits and one run in Thorndale’s 8-1 victory last week.
