With a 91-48 victory over Lehman on Tuesday night, Westlake clinched at least a share of the District 25-6A title for the third straight season. “Three years in a row means a lot — it’s incredible,” said Chaparrals senior point guard Luke Pluymen. … Westlake remained the No. 2-ranked team in the latest Class 6A state poll released by Texas Association of Basketball Coaches. Denton Guyer, which has handed the Chaps two of their three losses this season, stayed at No. 1. Lake Travis was 11th. … Del Valle stretched its District 14-6A winning streak to four games with a 66-48 triumph over Anderson, and the Cardinals now lead the district race by one game over Anderson. … Dylan Bell had 16 points as Bowie beat slumping San Marcos 59-41. Since opening 14-6A play with four consecutive wins, the Rattlers have dropped four straight games. … Latham Robinson and Luke Durham scored 12 and 10 points, respectively, as Westwood improved its playoff positioning in District 13-6A with a 46-42 victory over Round Rock. The loss dropped the Dragons a game behind district co-leaders Pflugerville and Hendrickson while the Warriors moved within two games of first place. Westwood leads McNeil by one game for the district’s fourth and final playoff spot. … Rouse’s Quinlin Daily set a school record with 10 three-pointers while scoring 32 points in the Raiders’ 85-55 win over Hutto. As a team, Rouse also set a school single-game record by sinking 20 treys. … Lanier, which leads District 25-5A, moved up to No. 21 in the latest TABC Class 5A state poll after a pair of victories, and Rouse dropped to No. 25 after suffering its first loss in 19-5A play, a setback against Connally. … District 19-4A teams had a busy night Tuesday, when third-place Lampasas handed first-place Liberty Hill its first district loss and second-place Burnet defeated Glenn. Liberty Hill still leads Burnet by two games, and Lampasas leads Glenn by one game for third place. … In the latest TABC state rankings, Jarrell remained atop the Class 3A poll and Thorndale topped the Class 2A poll. … Jarrell had just its second single-digit victory in district play Tuesday, fending off Franklin 63-55. T.J. Sykes had 16 points for the Cougars.
