It appears as if South Carolina will need to find some new names for the offensive coaching staff in 2018.

Former co-OC Kurt Roper was relieved of his duties at the end of the 2017 season.

Now it seems the other half of the offensive equation will depart as well.

It doesn't appear as though South Carolina assistant Bryan McClendon, who called SC plays during bowl game, will join UT as WR coach, according to a source. McClendon is expected to leave SC staff. I'm unsure where UT turns for WR coach, the only spot left on Jeremy Pruitt staff.

McClendon has been with head coach Will Muschamp since he arrived in Columbia. McClendon was formerly part of Georgia’s staff where he coached both Nick Chubb and Todd Gurley for a period of time.

He also molded the wide receivers at South Carolina including Deebo Samuel and Bryan Edwards. Tennessee may have been an alluring job, as he coached with Jeremy Pruitt in Athens, but it doesn’t seem he’ll land their either.

South Carolina recently won the Outback Bowl with McClendon’s help. He had three wide receivers with over 400 yards, but it may never be realized what could have done with a player like Samuel at his disposal in 2017.
