Missouri forward Michael Porter Jr leaves highly-anticipated debut with injury

Freshman phenom Michael Porter Jr. didn’t get two minutes into his collegiate debut before having to leave the game due to an apparent him injury.

According to the Kanas City Star’s Aaron Reiss, Porter Jr. left the game with 18:20 left on the first half clock and was seen holding ice to his left hip.

Per Reiss’ report, a Missouri spokesman said Porter “tweaked” his left hip during warmups and was held out of the game as a “precaution.”

Even in just 100 seconds, Porter was able to score and grab two rebounds to help his team’s cause.

His younger brother, Jontay Porter, managed three points, two rebounds and an assist in seven first-half minutes.
