Kansas PF Billy Preston out for opener due to disciplinary reasons


Kansas freshman power forward Billy Preston will miss the Jayhawks’ season opener against Tennessee State, according to CBS Sports’ Jon Rothstein.

Kansas freshman Billy Preston will not play tonight due to disciplinary reasons, per @KUHoops.

According to Rothstein, Preston was benched due to disciplinary reasons ahead of the contest.

Preston, a Los Angeles, Calif. native, was recruited by the Jayhawks as a 5-star prospect, per the 247Sports composite ratings. He chose Kansas over USC.

The Kansas-Tennessee State game can be viewed on ESPNU. The Jayhawks were ranked No. 4 in the preseason AP Top-25 poll entering the game.
