NBA G League: Raptors thump Spurs 93-78


Lorenzo Brown scored a game-high 23 points and added eight rebounds and nine assists as the Raptors 905 rolled over the Austin Spurs 93-78 Sunday afternoon in NBA G League action at Mississauga, Ontario.

Two of Brown’s teammates scored in double figures as well — Shevon Thompson had 16 points, and Kennedy Meeks added 13.

For the Spurs, rookie forward Jaron Blossomgame was the high point man with 18. Teammate Darrun Hilliard contributed 16 points, eight rebounds and six assists. Amida Brimah was the other Austin player scoring in double figures, with 10, and he also had eight rebounds.

The Spurs had a 22-19 lead at the end of the first quarter, but the Raptors outscored them 26-18 in the second period for a 45-40 margin at halftime. The Raptors added seven points to the margin in the third quarter and went into the final period up 67-55.

Austin made only 35 percent of its shots from the field, going 29-for-84. The Raptors made 40 of 86, or 47 percent. They also won the battle of the boards 51-42.

Next up for the Spurs will be another road game against the Long Island Nets at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
