Memphis Hustle end six-game win streak for Austin Spurs


The Austin Spurs fell to the Memphis Hustle 120-115 at the H-E-B Center at Cedar Park, putting an end to its six-game winning streak on Thursday night.

Derrick White, on assignment from the San Antonio Spurs, led all scorers with 28 points. Livio Jean-Charles scored 20 points and pulled down 13 rebounds for a double-double.

Nick Johnson scored 19 while Jaron Blossomgame, Jeff Ledbetter and Olivier Hanlan each scored 10.

The Hustle (14-20) had eight players score in double figures and utilized a strong third quarter to get the upper hand. After trailing by 11 at halftime, Memphis outscored the Spurs 32-18 in the third quarter.

The Spurs (21-13) were able to regain the lead with more than four minutes left to play in regulation, but Memphis went on a 10-0 run late in the period to hold off Austin.

Trahson Burrell led the Hustle with 21 points and added nine rebounds.

Omari Johnson scored 20 points while Chance Comanche recorded a double-double as he scored 13 points and had 13 boards. Kobi Simmons also scored 13 points while Jeremy Morgan, Durand Scott and Shaquille Thomas each added 11.

Austin will try to get back in the win column on Saturday as it travels to face the Texas Legends in Frisco at 7:30 p.m.
