Austin Spurs win fourth straight G League contest


Jaron Blossomgame and Derrick White each recorded double-doubles as the Austin Spurs defeated the Salt Lake City Stars 110-100 on the road on Friday night.

Olivier Hanlan and Amida Brimah tied for the lead in scoring for Austin, recording 19 points apiece.

Brimah was a rebound shy of giving the Spurs a third player with a double-double.

White scored 17 points and pulled down 12 rebounds. Blossomgame scored 12 points and had 11 rebounds.

Nick Johnson added 14 points while Livio Jean-Charles chipped in 12.

The Spurs dominated the inside, outscoring the Stars 60-42 inside the paint. Austin also led in second-chance points, 21-14, and fast-break points, 13-6.

Georges Niang led all scorers with 20 points for the Stars. Both teams had six players score in double digits. Tony Bradley scored 16 while Naz Mitrou-Long and Isaiah Cousins each added 15 for Salt Lake City.

Austin led after the first quarter, but the teams were tied by halftime.

The Spurs took at five-point lead into the final period and eventually built their lead up to 11.

The victory marks the fourth straight win for Austin. The Spurs are 2-0 on the current road trip with two games to go before returning home.

Up next for Austin is Santa Cruz in Calif. on Sunday at 8 p.m.
