Darrun Hilliard and Nick Johnson each scored 21 points as the Austin Spurs defeated the Salt Lake City Stars 116-104 in Utah on Wednesday.
Spurs rookie Jaron Blossomgame recorded a double-double in the win as he scored 13 points to go with 12 rebounds.
Livio Jean-Charles added 16 points in the win.
The Spurs outscored the Stars 37-26 in the first period and held a 58-50 lead by halftime.
Austin built its lead up to as many as 16 points and never trailed in the game.
Eric Griffin led Salt Lake City with 22 points while Naz Mitrou-Long scored 17.
Austin shot 53 percent while Salt Lake City managed to hit on 44 percent of its shots. The Spurs shot well from outside, hitting 10-of-20 shots from 3-point range.
Johnson was 3-for-4 from beyond the arc while Hilliard, Matt Costello and Jeff Ledbetter each hit two long-range shots.
The Stars outrebounded the Spurs 47-34, but Austin held an advantage in assists 22-17.
The win moves the Spurs to 7-3 while the Stars remained winless at 0-7.
Austin next takes on the Agua Caliente Clippers on Friday in San Antonio. The Spurs will be the home team though the contest takes place at the AT&T Center.
