FOLLOW LIVE: Texas hosts No. 10 Oklahoma State 

Dykstra, Profar lead Express in rout of Sky Sox


James Dykstra had his best start of the year and Jurickson Profar smashed a two-run homer to lead the Round Rock Express over the Colorado Springs Sky Sox 9-1 Monday night.

Dykstra picked up the win to boost his record to 2-6 and lower his ERA to 7.11. He allowed just one run, five hits and one walk over six innings, striking out four.

Colorado Springs (68-44) leads the Pacific Coast League’s American Northern Division. The Express (54-61) are third in the American Southern Division but improved to 6-2 this season against the Sky Sox.

Colorado Springs drew first blood as Nick Noonan singled to start the second inning, Tyler Heineman moved him to second with a sacrifice bunt, and Kirk Nieuwenhuis singled him home.

Round Rock took the lead for good with three runs in the third inning. Kevin Torres hit a solo home run on the first pitch he saw after being promoted to Triple-A. Pete Kozma singled, and Profar added the second homer of the inning.

The Express added two runs in the fourth on RBI doubles by Travis Snider and Jared Hoying. They blew the game open with four in the seventh with the help of run-scoring singles by Will Middlebrooks and Tyler Smith and a couple of errors.

Michael Blazek (2-4) went five innings, allowing five runs and nine hits while striking out one in the Pacific Coast League game.
