ROCKPORT — The giant crab is back.
Back in the 1950s and ’60s, a massive papier-mache blue crab sculpture was the pride of Rockport. But, as you might imagine, weather wore the thing out after a while. In the late ’70s, it was removed. Now, it’s back, re-created with fiberglass and aluminum by artist David Allgood, who was paid with donations from the community.
