IN THE MIDDLE OF THE GULF OF MEXICO — We noticed Kung Fu Woman on the first night of the cruise. We couldn’t help but notice her. As we passed through the typically calm lobby bar, she was its lone dancer — if mad flailing can be called dancing.
A few hours later, there she was in the ship’s dance club, clawing the air as though fending off an attack by a giant squid. The next morning at breakfast, I mentioned this woman and a fellow passenger said, “I saw that woman in the hall. She was Kung Fu fighting with herself.”
