The $765 million settlement of concussion-related lawsuits against the NFL was hailed as a positive step by a pair of former players, though neither joined the suits brought against the league.
“It’s vindication,” said former NFL quarterback Ty Detmer, who’s now the head football coach at St. Andrew’s Episcopal School. “I think what the players were looking for was long-term insurance. I think the majority of the settlement will put things in place where guys can get some help mentally and physically.”
