Because of the rainy conditions, the Texas-Florida State super regional playoff game has been postponed to Saturday.
The game now will be Saturday at 2 p.m. The second game is set for 2 p.m. Sunday. If needed, a third game will follow Sunday afternoon.
Saturday’s game will be broadcast by ESPNU. Sunday’s action will be broadcast on an ESPN channel, but by Friday night, it hadn’t been determined which one.
UPDATE, 8:10 _ Florida State is headed to Disch-Falk Field to warm up, but the NCAA officials are on the field and still haven’t determined a game time.
UPDATE, 7:50 p.m. _ NCAA officials along with the two team’s coaches are walking the field to see if there’s a way to play tonight’s super regional game between Texas and Florida State.
Neither team is even in full uniform. Word from the press box is the earliest the game may start is 9 p.m. Fans have yet to be allowed into McCombs Field.
EARLIER _ The start of tonight’s super regional softball game between Texas and Florida State is being delayed because of the wet conditions.
The game was scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. No start time has been set, as yet.
But workers at McCombs Field have rolled the tarp off the infield, although fans have yet to be allowed in the stadium.
This part of Austin has received at least three inches of rain today.
